Why the Várkert Bazár

Recently renovated, the monarchical, millennial Bazaar is one of the most central locations on the Buda side of the city. Its event hall, accessible via Fülkepavilon (Bayed Pavilion), offers a flexible, multipurpose space, ideal for a wide range of events, such as conferences, product tours, gala dinners, fashion shows, exhibitions, balls, theatrical plays and concerts. Historical features such as the original buttress and enlarged pieces from the “Hartmenn-Schedel World Chronicle” from 1493, which contains the first authentic depiction of Buda Castle, are complemented with state-of-the-art equipment. The space is connected to a three-level subterranean garage.

The Castle is the biggest museum of agriculture in Europe, located on Széchenyi Island in the leafy Városliget, just off Heroes’ Square. The eclectic historical building provides a fairy-tale setting.

Just outside Budapest, Gödöllő Castle’s cluster of buildings remains one of the most popular venues, accommodating hundreds of guests in a sophisticated environment, surrounded by a sprawling park. The main hall’s floral-patterned marble features are a visual feat and add a refined style to gala dinners and parties, as well as concerts. The former Royal Reception Hall seats 180–110 at seated dinners. The Riding Hall, renovated in 2010, is a rare venue in Europe: covering 636 sq m, this historical venue comes complete with two separate 80 sq m rooms.

Gala dinner in Budapest’s most opulent bath? An Oriental-style historical spa, Gellért is available after opening hours, with dinner served in the main hall, offering a view of the richly ornamented arabesque of the pool. The bath and thermal pools can also be rented.
